The 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, nicknamed the "Ghost Battalion," is a distinguished unit with a long and storied history, dating back to its initial formation on July 28, 1866. It has participated in numerous conflicts, including the Vietnam War, where it was heavily involved in the Battle of Ia Drang, and the Iraq War, notably the Battle of Fallujah. Currently, the battalion is stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, and is part of the 1st Cavalry Division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
